About: Coaching

Coaching is a person-centred approach to helping you make changes. This means that you, your situation, your preferences, your hopes, and your aspirations are at the centre of every session.

 

During a session, we will focus on a goal, a concern, an issue, a change, a challenge, or an improvement you hope to tackle.

 

Additionally, unlike psychotherapy, where you may wish to explore past events and gain an understanding of how they impact you today, we focus on the present and practical actions, employing creative problem-solving, although we might discuss your thinking patterns or strongly held beliefs.

You will determine what you hope to gain from the experience, and together we will work to build your internal and external resources to help you achieve extraordinary things.

​

Resources such as building your confidence, or confidence in your decisions, reducing worry or anxiety, identifying what drives you and brings you a sense of purpose and meaning, exploring new ways of incorporating healthier habits into your week, reviewing barriers and mitigating for future obstacles.

Our wellness is influenced by many areas of our lives, and at different times, we may find that one area requires more of our attention than others. We often know what we hope to achieve; however, internal and/or external influences can cause us to veer off our desired path.

During wellness and resilience coaching, we discuss what you wish to address to make a difference in any area of your life that contributes to emotional and/or physical health.

Through coaching, you can discover tools and resources to make instant and long-lasting change.

About: Me
Your Coach

Working with people and witnessing the changes they make towards their goals brings me joy and fulfilment.

The most rewarding aspect of my work as a coach (and in any job I've had) is witnessing those 'a-ha!' moments when something clicks, and understanding and development take a significant leap forward.

 

My background includes training in psychology and counselling, specialising in CBT. I pursued these subjects during my transition period from my teaching career (secondary science) to starting my family.

​

I have a passion for learning, and you will always find me engrossed in a new book, both related to wellness and fictional. Additionally, my science background drives me to understand the latest studies about health, wellness, and happiness, which I integrate into my practice when appropriate.

​

One significant aspect of my life revolves around all that comes with being a military spouse. My husband's career is somewhat unique and enriches my life while impacting it in various ways. I have an understanding of working in the public sector and of the impacts individuals may experience when their partner feels the pressures and impacts from their work in the public sector and armed forces.

​

I have a passion for working with military spouses/partners because I know first hand how sudden and impactful change and challenge can be in the military community, as well as the desire to feel a sense of control during those times.

​

My personal mission is to live purposefully, working with interesting people and their diverse situations, using my knowledge and skills to help them achieve amazing change for themselves. I do this in a way that allows me to live my life with my family and my wellness at its centre.
